morning in paradise

it's 0630 AM here and the clouds are trying to roll out to sea and bring us a wonderful day. At least i have a view and a cool breeze to soothe me while i try and do my work before the day gets underway...

Hawaii, 2 years later

It occured to me on the flight over here that the last time, 2 years ago, I was here for this meeting i am attending, i had just started blogging. My how time flies!!!

Once again I meet up with my pal, Mary and her friends. AFter meeting up Saturday nite and catching up, we left to meet up on Sunday. A motor cyle ride with friends of Mary's and her good friend Margret, who so graciousl loaned me her new bike, so i could ride with Margret
s bikker pack.

Margret's new 883 Harley Sportster that I got to ride around the island today. The company was good, the traffic not bad and the weather was fabulous!
This is a place we stopped called China Walls. people were boogie board surfing catching waves close the wall here and riding the waves from left to right.

Another shot, with Diamond Head in the far distance.
After stopping and looking, we mounted up and headed to the new Kona Beer Brewary for some beer samplers and a bite to eat. Mary met us there, as she didn't do the ride since she doesn't ride. I got to indulge in some fish, which i only get to do when i am on the road. A delightful Marlin sandwhich and some very tasty Hawaiian potato chips, we mounted up and headed back to Mary's place, where i returned the bike, and stayed for dinner of steak, delish Korean BBQ'd short ribs, some corn and rice.

with a new sun tan/burn on my arms, i headed back to the hotel, where sitting on the lanai and feeling the gentle breeze was a peaceful ending to a great day.

I left my heart in San Fran!

experiment here, but sort of turned out ok, i think. the heart of the heart is the top of a peppermint tin I got in the San Francisco airport last year. I cut it and glued it so the Golden Gate and the city words would show, but i guess i should have cut it the other way ...

Pensive Look?

Now that i look at this it looks like her nose is broken.

Btw, the Etsy.com link now has some art posted on it. Just my nudes, but i did a few variations on the original. check back there from time to time, as i will be putting new artwork up for sale there. Look or buy, but support hand made, in the USA.

Certain confusion

Today's certain confusion....Blues, bluegrass, ah , it's music isn't it?

Ruby makes an observation

Have ya ever noticed that sometimes, us females seem to poke our own eyes out ? You would think those that struggle would help those coming up....but I guess you have to be secure in your own self and open minded.

Finished 'doors' - ready to sell

Love at first sight!!!
More Dancing Fish.....

This is the finished re-purposed chalk board aka my old high school drafting set - the T-square became the funky wind chimes, and this is a message board. Not as spiffy as i wanted, but i keep getting better and more idea with each new project.

Facing Monday morning....

Spring is coming to the Lake! Thrash is waiting

Having to get down to the lake this weekend to meet the phone company workers who were going to re-trench some new lines to the house, i took the opportunity to take down the art I made and get ready for the memorial day weekend flea market.

My driftwood little bench also made it's way to the lake, and I put these statues on it for now, not sure it will stay there but for now that is where it will be. Also put this little froggy in the rabbit bird bath, froggy was a Target clearence find.

Thrash is waiting for Spring and the ducks in the distance to get closer. With another Target find, garden froggy on a stick..and he too, is waiting for spring and flowers to bloom.

The bushes 's are already in bloom down at the lake.

but the weeds are also in bloom as well!

This one is done and ready to be sold!

If you notice on the bottom of the door, i mounted two coat hanger thingys I got at World Market, aka Cost Plus [ and I do remember Cost Plus from my California days waaaaaayyyy back in the day]. So a fancy , arts and crafts, make Frank Lloyd Wright proud , coat hanger or hat hanger.

Another work done and others a work in progress

Another creature from my imagination, but this time on a smaller scale. It was a smaller cabinet door!
These are works in progress, more cabinet doors - panorama's of a sort

This is a design from what is called the 'arts and crafts' era - mission furniture, frank lloyld wright, etc. I saw the pattern on the web, copied it with some of my own twists and will put two brackets from World Market on it to make it a coat or really a hat rack.

pix later when they are done....

Now it is officially Spring!

When the blossoms are out, not just the Bradford Pear trees, and the branches hang low over my driveway making it slow going so not to trash the pretty branches....Now that is when it is Spring!
Now the sun needs to comply :-(

The long way back to the hotel, but even the short way requires me to take a bridge over the intercoastal waterway...to A1A ! beach front avenue. Crowne Plaza has entertainment on their deck on certain nites, like the souldful and soundfull roar of the ocean wasn't enought. But tonite was smooth Jazz, which I do like, and this group was pretty good. They are in the thatched hut to the right, with all the folks on the left. The only thing was the parking lot was full, but the hotel thoughtfully blocked off spaces for the guests.
What is amazing is watching white people dance to slow smooth jazz tunes! However , the jammed it up in subsquent songs , which got folks moving again. The sax player had some hook up that allowed him to play thru the speakers but yet move into the audience, which he and the keyboard player did on quite a few songs.
Not a bad soundtrack to try and fix some messed up slide shows to, i have to admitt.

Scooter and Rubyisms

Ruby says you gotta catch up and stay going forward...

this one could easily be titled "waiting for Godot" but we are waiting for our PAAWNS project to take flight , or at least lift off a bit!

Crowne Plaza in Melbourne Florida

I got to Melbourne a bit early and no one around to bug me. Everyone headed for their respective hotels, and with the day so nice, i changed to the bathsuit and caught thet last bit of rays beaming to the beach. The wonderful sounds do much to soothe my soul and help focus the meditation.

A crab cake BLT on the the hotel deck and a few snaps with the camera, and then it was back up to the room to fight with a slow wireless connection and then to bed.

However, today it is a bit overcast, humidity is up and so is my hair, and i am stuck again in a room with no windows.......
