Notice these days that folks drag their laptops to every meeting they attend? They strategically place them selves either by wall sockets [or like me bring and extension cord] to plug in and then go searching for a Lan drop [if their is no wireless available].

Get to the meeting early or you will be relegated to the back of the room - uncomfortable seats, no power outlet and damn sure no internet connection to check you mail. And not even your blackberry works back there !

Doesn't anyone pay attention to the briefer anymore?

As you sit in meetings, walk around places where us contractors congregate or work, you often see people with multiple electronic devices. It's like the amount of badges and electronics define your importance. To me, all it is a pain to keep track of and gives you some aches and pains in the belt area, to include crackberry sore thumbs!

Anyone out there remember Mad Magazine ? Ok, Who admits to reading it? Well if you didn't read it but know there was a recurring cartoon called "Spy vs. Spy" featuring two pointy nosed characters. One had a black trench coat and hat, the other white.
Well, I gotta say that working for the government, esp Missile Defense Agency (aka MDA) is many times as chaotic as that magazine.

So I was thinking, Spy vs Spy...hmmm "Contractor vs Contractor". aha ! the genesis for a new running cartoon. The first one out of the block here is an ode to chaos. Apologies to the late Keith Haring, in stealing a bit of his style.
