In getting rid of a file cabinet and replacing with a metal 7 shelf cart , i found a lot of crap i had kept but a heck of a lot of sketchs and drawings. Some were over 20 years old, from units i served in, places I had been, editorial cartoons, etc. I had forgotten about them, but remembered them and the events at the times when i reviewed them all. I tossed a lot of stuff, organized the rest and stuck them in looseleaf binders, my early version of sketch books. In retrospect from all then till now, I have been more prolific in doodles and sketches than i had imagined.

another self inflicted mess in the studio

Silly art and serious thoughts
Snowman in the Hood is a little rough, but I couldn't help myself...I was thinking instead of all these cutsy country snowmen, how 'bout selling Gangsta snowman, snowman from the hood, etc. Not pretty but surely a wonderful conversation piece...

But the serious thoughts I had or rather a philosophy revelation came to me while i was listening to someone at the crafts fair talking to one of the artists about God and art and creating stuff [ i can't remember the conversation but it was loud enough for me to hear it a table away]. and as i couldn't help but listen, the revelation was that Christians seem to want to talk to everyone about their prayer and what they feel about God, while the Asian religions are more introspective and silent, as in their meditation practices. Quite a subjective but somewhat academic comparison on my part.

the 'Studio'
the font of my creativity.....it actually looks neater in the pictures than it does when i am sitting there and creating. But I hate messyness and i spend as much time putting stuff away, organizing and throwing stuff out as i do making stuff. My little laptop looks lost on the desk, but as slow as it is, I LOVE my little 12" MAC. It's like an old friend, always there to open a window on the world of art, messages and anything else I dare to search for.
