Wilson's First Christmas

Ok, so i made the dogs wear the silly antler ears...but they are slowly getting along and getting to know each other. ONe thing they have in common right away is MOOCHING!

off to NY and visiting the family...needless to say Christmas day was only partially relaxing, as i had to get ready for this trip as well as we had to figure out all the 'stuff' we need to take for two beasties...thanks for the invite Vick...just got too hard for us to get it all done and get out the door.

Hope everyone's Christmas was wonderful and peace came into your lives.

Newest memeber of the family - Wilson !!!!

Thrash caving...
the new littlest dude, Wilson, napping. He was abused and a stray, saved by the local Boston Terrier Rescue. We think he was burned, and is very scared in his new environment. But we hope love will bring him around, Lord knows we are showing him much TLC.

Bill B's Jacket

Well over a year ago Bill, from Huntsville, wanted me to do some art on the jacket he wears when he does iron pours for his brother's sculpture class. It happens once every one or two years and they go a a foundry. This year I plan to go down there as well to participate. but i digress....I drew the art, incorporating things Bill wanted in there, and got the jacket. I was so afraid i would screw it up, i delayed starting it. Till finally, I just did it. !! I might add a few highlights but basically it is done and ready to go back to him. Now i just have to motivate myself to find a box to ship it back. Hmmmmmm, where did i put all those boxes now.

back to sketching my meeting models :-)

Once again strangeness , Strangeland , meetings and fighting to stay awake with tremendous headache has lead my pen to capture a subject and then drift off into the recessess of the scary part of my creative brain......i need time off !

hangin' my own art...

I thought i would hang this on the way to the downstairs to complement the fish mural, which i didn't do, on the wall at the lake house. if no one buys my art, hell, i'll hang it in my own damn house. and at this rate, i might be looking for a 3rd house, or just a big old enpty warehouse...LOL

wonder no more where my art comes from...

i've framed and kept two piece of art my dad did and i took a long time ago, each of a horse - a head and a Pegasus. And i knew that back in the day, when they used to have silhouettes in the paper for folks to try and draw, you know the "do you have talent and want to go to art school " (showng my age, huh?) I drew few myself, but knew my parents had also. And i knew that I had seen these before, however this time home, Mom gave the stack to me. A present of the past to treasure and attempt to preseve.

Mom's Art
Dad's art and the certificate from a mail in art school. This is just one of the drawings he did.
I got the whole stack of drawings they both did, and it was quite interesting. A temptress, a dog, flowers, birds, shillotettes, old girl friends, cartoons...a lot, and yet not enough. I have many many sketch books filled with stuff from back when i was a child to the postings here on this blog. But none are so precious as the aged drawings in pencil and charcol that Mom and Dad had done. A look back into their lives, before me and yet, so very relavent.

and I wonder no more where the art drive and talent, yes talent, came from.

finished art...abstract plus

more wanderings into the abstract side
