Snuggly Buggly.....

I got this dog cave thing from one of the catalogs. It won lots of awards because dogs like to know someone or something has their back. So they like to snuggly in with their back against something, and this little bed does the trick. At first, Thrash couldn't get the hang of it, and would be half in , half out. But yesterday, i went looking for him, and saw that the Thrash cave had a considerable lump and profile. Upon further investigation, viola ! there he was. I couldn't help how cute he looked, so yes , I took more doggie pix....

Isn't he just the cutest thing you ever did see?

Sometimes your dreams seem so real.....

Bad 'fluences!

Sketchs from Melbourne, Fl

Every meet someone who puctuartes their discussions with outbursts of laughs ? at first it just seems light hearted, but as you continue on in the meetings, it is the same tone, but perhaps a social defense mechanism? Haven't quit figured it all out, but prob won't.

Fresca Pintura - hot Latina Private Eye

A week or so ago a friend sent me the name, Fresca Pintura, thinking it evoked visions of a hot latina, perhaps working as a privete detective, you know the stuff of cheap novels or great movies. I drew this babe up, and wanted to post it, but low and behold, my scanner would just not work no matter what I did. So I hooked it up to my work laptop today, and voila, just like that mystical car ailment that disappears as soon as you get to the dealer, the thing started working.

so i thought i would do some scanning and posting before i disconnect it, drag it back to my studio and hopefully will be pleasantly surprised and back in business again [notice accentuate the positive!]

So, sports fans, does the name sound familiar to ya?

Every Squirrel gets a nut once in awhile...

this was my suite this time in florida - a suite with a balcony looking out on the ocean. and yes, it was within per diem, and i had the government rate! At least a nice place to work at night and chill out since our days were long and i couldnt do much of anything else.

Well, as I woofed before, this is the best I could see of the eclipse...as it started and the clouds had some breaks in them...i was able to get at least this shot.

Well I am home finally, but that is another story thank you United and the crummy weather.

Tales from Melbourne- the shuttle, the sonic boom and inside in meetings!

I have no pix to post yet or cartoons, but....

Several months ago , I was down here in Melbourne, Florida [down the coast only a bit from Cape Canaveral, Coco Beach, etc] , and had just gotten in my hotel room, turned on the news and saw that they were doing a launch, was a spy satellite I believe. Well, thinking it was over the way the news reported it, i never ventured back out, only to find out the next day I could have gone out down to the beach and seen the launch....argggg....

Well, flash forward to today. The shuttle was landing around 9 AM ish, and the folks at Harris, where i was inside in meetings said you can hear the sonic boom when it is coming in to land. Well imagine the frustration of having to sit in a meeting, with a hotel room on the beach, and not only missing the landing, but I missed the sonic boom also. Sigh....

well, let me go out to the balcony and see how much of the eclipse I can see through the clouds. Maybe I will get luck and get a picture...

Visiting Joe and Judy at Cape Coral Florida!

Flew down to Florida to spend an overnight with my firends Joe and Judy, from st louis. Yes, the firgid cold right now St Louis. After Judy finially retired from government service, she and Joe are doing some of the things they have always wanted to do...like snow bird in florida during the winter. So they rented a house for 6 weeks, and i got to visit finally a few days , like tomorrow, before they go back to the cold country.

that is me, just before i went to put my bathing suit on and went swimming myself ! That is Brandy on my lap, snuggling up. But you know my Thrash is my number one man!

The house had a heated pool with one of those enclosure things, so swimming with no buggs! Of course the pool had a little table in the pool itself, where you could sit and watch all the sights and enjoy food and beverage. That is Joe in there wondering why Judy was
" what are you doing with that camera !!????!!!!"

Majik Markers and Memories

I've always had an artistic bent in me...and can remember scribbling and drawing on anything, to include the nice white cardboard that came with those uglee fishnet stockings we used to wear, well some of us... As a young child, every week, my mom and i would walk to the stores, about 1/2 mile away and we would stop at what used to be called the 'candy store' , which had cards, candy, apharmacy, stuff that you might get in a CVS these days. It also had a counter where you could get a grilled cheese samwhich, malt or that NY delight, Eggcreme. And every week, mom would buy me one of these Papermate Flair majic markers for me to draw with. At that time, they came is so many different colors, and I would pick out a color each week, wokring on getting them all. And boy, would I draw and draw. I had so many after a while, I could color a rainbow and then some.

As I surfed around the last few days to find a source of these Copic markers, above, since one of my favorites the Eberhard Design marker was discontinued, I had thoughts of the Flair markers and how Mom and I would pick them out each week. It was such a small thing, but one that, was one of the happiest things. How could Mom have known? Love and encouragement of my talent - what more can a child ask for from a mom ?

Isn't it always the small things that make us smile....the sacrifice and joy of giving, thos e memories, swollen with love, are the ones that last.

Hugs are Love..

This Valentine's Day, hug someone that you love ....share some love. You never know when you will be the world to that person, perhaps if only for this one day.

Valentine Day - 2008 #1

To all my family and dear, close friends...you are always in my heart. My love to you this day.

Let's Save the Damn Trees, why don't we?

this new paper layout pad is supposed to be non repo blue outlines,,,, i guess it doesn't apply to scanning stuff....

Ice Storms can be scary....

Took Several major power hits last night and the resulting 'Thuds' gave me and Thrash some pause. So after turning off most of the electronics, we retreated to the art room aka studio, where i have a little tv with an antenna to get some stations, and proceded to color away, not daring to turn on the computer. But after a while Thrash was wanting to be held, and I guess I was too, so i picked him up and just resigned myself to watching the little TV till we went to bed.

Trying to get a good picture of the snuggling, while one is also snuggled was kind of hard, but you sort of get the idea.

Mug mask

on my last travel trip, i saw this image on a mug that someone across from me was drinking coffee out of . I thought it was intriguing so i was doodling it while he slurped his coffee down. Thinking of what else I can do with this thing, to make it truly mine.

who's more important

As you sit in meetings, walk around places where us contractors congregate or work, you often see people with multiple electronic devices. It's like the amount of badges and electronics define your importance. To me, all it is a pain to keep track of and gives you some aches and pains in the belt area, to include crackberry sore thumbs!

Design for a shirt

The colors kinda sux right now, but you get the idea. PAAWNs is one of the projects I have in support of MDA and is a upgrade to a sattelite modem. the other stuff are some of the weapons systems in mda - GBI [ground based interceptor], THADD { this is a joke as the acronym is really THAAD, Thadd is one of my govie's, and aBL is airborne Laser. ahhhhhhh

Observations...

Is it me or are more and more people just not waiting for folks to finish talking ? There seems to be a lack of true give and take, interaction that piques the mind and makes you think wrt defending your point or position. It seems like people just wait for a pause, then start talking over you...Might as well be a tower of Babel, since no one is hearing or making an attempt to understand where the other people are coming from......

Da Air Force

CAn anyone tell me why would a service that flys planes need to wear camo that is a woodland pattern ?
oh wait, I forgot, the golf course gets built first before the air field!
